Point of View of Michel Guilbauld, Vice General Director of ANVAR

The important role of the regional partners for the accompaniment of innovative start-ups

1 - ANVAR, a more intense activity upstream from projects for creation
The environment for innovative creation has changed. The legislation on innovation of 1999 and a more positive perception of company creation by scientists has encouraged creation.
The increase in activity for ANVAR in the sector of the creation of innovative companies (20% in 1999 to 40% in 2001) shows this. The development of this activity has obliged the Agency to further improve its methods, as regards project holders and the creators of innovative companies, by using an approach that is always based on that of the demand (clients).
The improvement can only be obtained by working in network with the other partners in the creation of innovative companies in the region: incubators, technopoles, CEEI, CCI, FIR, Réseau Entreprendre, Boutiques de Gestion …

In contrast, at the present time when the gap between the European and the American economise is widening, it becomes indispensable to understand how to make it possible for development of our SME and the appearance of new major companies, under the risk of falling behind definitively and no longer being able to conserve our model of society.
