CHALLENGE JEUNES POUSSES" TRAINING COMPETITION FOR YOUNG START-UPS
Ten projects in the list; sixty students, with the baccalaureate plus
5 years study in Universities or engineering schools have decided to unite
their competence around a project related to the NTIC. In April, only
three or four will succeed.
Sceptics were surprised by the quality of the projects presented last
Saturday to the sponsors of the "Challenge Jeunes Pousses" and
to journalists as well as by the complementarity and the dynamism of the
teams.

A
TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER OFFICE AT THE UNIVERSITE DE NICE SOPHIA-ANTIPOLIS
Nadine Marchandé, who directed the Incubateur PACA-EST at Sophia-Antipolis
for two years has been named director of the Service de Valorisation/Technology
transfer office of the Université de Nice Sophia-Antipolis. This
newly created structure aims to transfer the research work of the University
and of the economic world. This new department, based at Nice, will provide
a real opportunity to researchers to make their work known and to become
familiar with the activities of companies. They will also benefit from
advice and practical help concerning the protection of their research
results (industrial property) and of the possibility to participate in
the creation of a company via a link with the Incubateur PACA EST.
The service will organize internal training seminars and information meetings
for researchers as well as public conferences so as to increase the general
level of awareness vis à vis projects and activities underway.
It will also by an intermediary for companies and industrial partners
in search of a specific technological or scientific expertise within the
laboratories of the University.
