TOULON VAR TECHNOLOGIES

CONFERENCE MEETING ON THE THEME OF "UNDERWATER OPTICAL IMAGING"

On 28th November 2002 at TVT (Toulon), Ifremer, POPsud and Toulon Var Technologies (TVT) proposed a day of conferences on the theme 'Underwater optical imaging", with the aim of better understanding the technological factors, the market prospects and to encourage exchange between the actors of research and industry.
Over and above the documentaries on underwater life and wrecks, optical imaging has numerous applications under the sea whether it be for marine sciences, industry or defence. If the expansion of numeric technology, advances in optoelectronics and miniaturization have given birth to caneras with more and more performance, obtaining underwater images suffers from the inherent constraints of the sea milieu.
