Brokerage Event on Safety & Security Systems in Europe - Postdam (Allemagne) - 31/05 et 01/06/2007.

The political, economical and technological changes due to globalisation causes a series of positive new developments and impulses, but also new risks and threats. Especially since 11/9 the question of security against terrorism and crime and the safety of infrastructures and (public) utilities is at the top of the agenda in Europe.

The new 7th Framework Programme for Research and Development of the European Commission has therefore conceded research on safety and security as a high priority. We therefore invite you to join the international conference “Safety and Security in Europe” organised by the Innovation Relay Centre Northern Germany, represented by VDI/VDE-IT. The international conference is addressed to technology-oriented enterprises and research institutions in the area of security and safety.

Additionally to the two-day conference, IRC Northern Germany organises a Brokerage Event session.

Main topics:
- Robust autonomous ad-hoc communication concepts.
- Embedded systems for signal and image processing, pattern recognition, data reduction and communication.
- Simultaneous localisation and mapping.
- Tracking of persons and objects.
- IT for identification technologies, e.g. RFID, biometrics.
- IT system concepts for surveillance of critical objects or areas.

These topics include data privacy, inherent security concepts and standardisation for the named focuses.
Classic IT-Security (e. g. firewalls, antivirus concepts, etc.) is not in the focus of the forum.

NEPIRC ecoForum 2007 on recycling and waste management technologies - Bialystok (Poland) - 28 June 2007

The brokerage event in Bialystok (Poland) on recycling and waste management technologies will take place on 28 June 2007.

Bialystok lies in the Podlasie region. That region is one of the most beautiful provinces of Poland. Clean environment is its greatest advantage. That is why taking care about the environment is crucial for local stakeholders (companies active in that region as well as local authorities). Therefore, there is an array of Polish companies interested in recycling technologies and meeting with potential European companies with whom they could exchange information on state-of-the-art technologies and solutions available nowadays on European and world markets, and seek companies for future cooperation.

The event in Bialystok is focused on recycling technologies of different kinds of materials - especially ferrous and non-ferrous metals, glasses, cars etc.

Participants of the event have a chance to:
- Establish valuable contacts with Polish companies active in the recycling field.
- Meet potential partners and clients during the event.
- Identify partners for European research projects.

EMPC2007 - 16th European Microelectronics and Packaging Conference & Exhibition & Brokerage event - Oulu (Finland) - 18 June 2007.

IRC Finland together with Tekes will organise a partnering event in Oulu Finland on 18 - 19 June, in connection with the 16th European Microelectronics and Packaging Conference and Exhibition, EMPC2007.

EMPC2007 is organised by IMAPS, the International Microelectronics And Packaging Society, a non-profit global organisation. IMAPS's main activity is knowledge dissemination about microelectronics, manufacturing, materials, processes, design and reliability.

The EMPC2007 conference will follow the ISHM/IMAPS tradition of industrial/scientific programme on micro-electronics, materials, manufacturing and industrialisation. It will, however, be expanded from traditional microelectronics packaging to include latest advances in related fields like sensors, nanotechnology and real System-in-Package applications, and brings together specialists from industry and academia. Special attention is also given to the business-related issues of our industry. For the second time in Europe, a special session by the IMAPS Global Business Council (GBC) is introduced.

The IRC Brokerage Event is an interface between research and the private sector allowing new technologies, processes, patents and licenses to be offered and experiences in financing, production, marketing and distribution to be requested, thus bringing compatible partners together. All registrants at the EMPC Brokerage will be able to access the online portal in order to identify potential partners and pre-arrange exploratory meetings to take place at the event. Every attendee will then have a Personal Agenda drawn up that integrates their pre-arranged co-operation meetings, with other conference sessions that they have selected to attend. IRC Brokerage event is free of charge.

TECHTEXTIL 2007 - International Technology Co-operation Event - 13 juin 2007 - Frankfurt am Main (Germany).

On the occasion of Techtextil Frankfurt, the leading international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens, IRC Hessen/Rheinland-Pfalz, IRC Northern Germany and IRC Hellenic with the support of the TG Textiles and the Messe Frankfurt will organise the Brokerage Event “Techtextil”.

Techtextil takes place from 12 to 14 June 2007. The complete global market of technical textiles will be showcased at the most important forum for the industry. In 2005, the fair attracted more than 1000 exhibitors from 47 countries. The fair is separated in 12 different application areas, i.a. “Medtech”, which is dedicated to manufacturers of medical supplies, hospitals and research institutions, or “Indutech”, which addresses users, designers and processors from the mechanical engineering, chemical and electrical industries, or “Mobiltech”, which show the latest developments of textiles for ship and aircraft construction, as well as automotive and railway.

The event will cover the main topics of the exhibition, such as:
- Technology, machinery and accessories
- Fibres and yarns
- Wovens, scrims, braids and knitted fabrics
- Nonwovens
- Coated textiles
