Biotechnologies

Oncology Partnering Event - 14 Juin 2005 - Genève - Conférences et Rencontres technologiques.

A one-day event focused on oncology is proposed by IRC SOFRAA (partner Cast located in Lausanne, Switzerland) and BioAlps. Conferences given by invited speakers from research institutes and pharma industries will give an overview on recent developments and perspectives for the future.

Plenary lectures will open the day. Then thematic presentations will run in parallel with the brokerage event. One-to-one meetings will be pre-organised on the basis of a catalogue. This event is the opportunity for research institutes, start-ups and pharma companies, developing new drugs, vectors or delivery systems, working on diagnosis or therapy, to meet around innovative technologies.

The objective of the event is to generate contacts for technology transfer between local and European research centres/companies, and to help SMEs participate in collaborative research projects of the European Commission FP6 program.

BioAlps is an association, financed by the cantons, to promote the activities in life sciences of Western Switzerland research institutes and companies.
Euresearch is the Swiss network that promotes participation in the European Commission framework programmes.

Electronics Scotland Conference & Speed Networking Event - 6 & 7 june 2005 - Gleneagles - Scotland (UK).

Scotland’s trade association for the electronics industry, Electronics Scotland, will be hosting their conference at the famous Gleneagles Hotel over 6th-7th of June.

This year’s conference theme is “Stimulating Demand”.

A significant area of market opportunity is the development of new products or services, applying emerging Radio Frequency technologies, ranging from Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Wireless and Ultra Wideband (UWB), in key market sectors such as security, defense/military applications and healthcare.

Scotland has developed a strong network of companies engaged in developing RF solutions, ranging from Sun Microsystem’s with their European RF testing centre, as well as BAE Systems, Atmel and Honeywell. In addition, Scotland has a strong sector group of small to medium business offering capability in this field.

This year's conference will focus on how SMEs can successfully collaborate with multi-nationals to develop new products and take them to market, and will identify some of the issues and barriers associated with product co-development, and growing a company with a global sales reach.

Speakers in this year's conference include Cisco, Intel, Nokia, the American Electronics Association, BT, Micro Emissive Displays and Total Repair Solutions.
A Speed Networking Event on 7th June will provide companies from across Europe with an opportunity to meet leading multinationals, universities and innovative SMEs in Scotland’s electronics sector. Leading multi-nationals such as Sun Microsystems, BAE Systems, NCR, Honeywell, Atmel and Nokia engaged in solutions employing RF technologies, will be invited to promote their Requests and participate in the Partner Brokerage Event.

Technologies de l'Information et de Communication

MICT 2005 - Modern Information & Communication Technologies Co-operation Meeting - 20 June 2005 - Bratislava - SK.

Co-operation meeting in the field of modern information & communication technologies (MICT) is targeted on development of trans-national co-operation of institutions (companies, universities and R&D institutions) in the field of research, technology development and commercial technology-based co-operation.

The meeting will be focused on two main fields of technological co-operation - research and technology development (supported mainly by Sixth Framework Programme - IST, eContent, eTen), technology transfer (both inward and outward).

The event is aimed at exchange of the projects ideas in technology transfer with relevant parties in the field of modern ICT, build up the network of contacts for future collaboration in technology development, transfer and/or commercial area, obtain information on trans-national technological co-operation possibilities and financing the innovation in companies and meet key players in the technology area from the Slovak Republic.

Aquaculture

EAS/AquaNor 2005 - 8 Aout 2005 - Trondheim (Norvège).

IRC Norway is organising a Brokerage Event for the aquaculture/fishing industry on 8-9 August 2005 in Trondheim during Aquaculture Europe 2005 (5-9 August) & AquaNor trade show (9-12 August), organised in co-operation with the FISH ETI project & the IRC Fish Technology Thematic Group.

IRC Norway will organise visits to companies in the aquaculture industry on Wednesday 10th August.
